  Christmas Eve ,and what am I going to watch tomorrow on Xmas day. Any suggestions ?

  Should't they cancel their meeting tonight?

  i find it kind of amusing that as worldly people who pass by a kh and know nothing of jw's tonight will think that the jw's are having a christmas eve service.

  many churches have a number of services tonight; children's program, family/christmas eve service and maybe a midnight candlelight service.. you know how some jw's won't even wear red between nov & dec lest anybody think they are celebrating the holidays?

  well then, shouldn't they cancel tonight's meeting so nobody thinks they are doing their own christmas eve service?

  They cancelled special holiday witnessing at my hall years ago, making it just the same as any other day. I just assumed this was done everywhere. Any PIMOs here that can confirm?

  the governing body has lovingly provided instructions and reminders to couples that they should pray before having sex.

  please be obedient and follow the wise counsel from the gb leaders who never stick their noses into other peoples business and are not creepy cult leaders at all....not!.

  among the reasons the watchtower society gives in appendix c of the new world translation for inserting the name jehovah in the new testament is the following:.

  · " in greek, is the definite article missing from before kyʹri·os (lord), where it would normally be expected grammatically, thus indicating that a proper name may originally have appeared in the greek text?

  d. does anyone know if this is a valid argument?

  probably one of the most common causes of cognitive dissonance many jws face is the choice to plan for retirement.

  if you're a good jw, then you should believe that the end will be coming soon, surely before you retire.

  that's what i did when i was younger, blowing decades that could've been better spent because i believed the end was coming, so any planning was a waste of time.

  I’m curious about how you got in a conversation with other JWs about retirement

  All three were brought up by me. The first was regarding my job. The second two were regarding their jobs, because they were considering changing employment.

  PS: I forgot to mention that the nice brother who does plan ahead isn't wealthy or have degrees or anything. He just works very hard and is responsible with what he has.
